The Affix Chiselwick was originally granted to my mother in 1991, and it was passed over to me in July 1998.
The name is derived from the Charles Dickens character "Martin Chuzzelwit". Characters from
other Dickens works became names for the puppies born to us throughout the 1980's.
We felt that the names were in keeping with the breed and symbolic of these times.
We belong to The Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme and as such abide by their code of ethics.
This scheme has been recently set up for a number of reasons, primarily to monitor and review the
breeding practices and welfare of dogs for their lifetime.
All of our dogs are Vet health screened before they are considered for mating, or as young pups leaving
to go to their new home. Our main concern is the optimum welfare of our dogs, and breeding them to the
highest standards possible to produce fit and healthy Bulldogs.
We also hold membership to the following clubs:
The Bulldog Club Incorporated
The London Bulldog Society
The South of England Bulldog Society
The Junior Bulldog Club
Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall Bulldog Club
Portsmouth & Southsea Canine Society
The Bulldog Club of Wales
The Crystal Palace Canine Society
The Homestead Dog Agility Association
OUR DOGS
all friends sleeping together
When Megan "Lucabrazie Christine of Chiselwick" joined our
family, we somehow became bitten by the showing bug.
Megan’s first show at the
age of 6 months qualified her for Cruft’s. She has since gone on to win numerous
Classes,
including The South of England Bulldog Society Championship Show 2008, where she was awarded the
Reserve Challenge Certificate which qualified her for inclusion in the Kennel Club Stud Book.
Megan, Polly (and Pup), Leah and Harriot
Polly "Lucabully Eve White of Chiselwick" became part of the family in 2007. She had six beautiful puppies in 2008 -
one of which we kept - Leah "Chiselwick Lady Leah". Polly has since had another five pups, which were
born Feb 2010.
We decided to keep Harriot from this litter. All being well, Leah "Chiselwick Lady Leah" will be mated during mid 2011.
Please note that our bitches are Breed Club health-checked for fitness and health before they are considered for mating.
Millie "Unijax Mollie Mae of Chiselwick" also joined us in 2007
initially to show her, however, Millie did not enjoy this activity.
She now
attends dog agility training where she is the talk of the club. Taking the
jumps in her stride and the high climbing bridges and apex frame as a walk in
the park.
She was recently mated with sire Hillplace Goodwill and the pups were born 15th November 2010.

Gone but not forgotten
We rescued Leah in 2007 and brought her back to health over a six month period, in which time she enjoyed
her life with her new friends. Sadly, she fell asleep at the age of 10 years in 2008.
